Meaning ‘soft’ in Dutch, this project is an exploration in softer interactions with our technology.

It attempts to overcome the poor tactile experience of interacting on glass touch screens while maintaining some of its qualities — such as being able to show and hide controls on demand. Leaving us with a UI that only shows us what’s needed at any time rather than settling for controls and labels that will remain visible at all times, regardless of their relevance.

I choose materials that are more natural to the interiors of our homes and offer a much greater tactile experience; wood and wool. Buttons and labels are made of light.

Offering a limited feature set of standby/on, source selection, volume control, and bluetooth pairing this hi-fi integrated amplifier is the first expression of Zacht.
